Parkinson’s Disease and Medical Cannabis. Israel has decades of scientific studies on medical cannabis. The popular statement in the United States is there is only “anecdotal evidence” that the plant has medical properties. This is false. The Government of the U.S. is the last agency to listen to about drugs. FDA approved drugs kill more people every year than all illicit drugs combined. This is the sad reality of America and “prescribed drugs”.
Tel Aviv, Israel: Inhaling whole-plant cannabis provides symptomatic relief in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD), according to observational trial data published in the March/April edition of the journal Clinical Neuropharmacology. Parkinson’s is a progressive disorder of the central nervous system that results in tremor, slowed movement, and muscle rigidity.
If you have ever known a person with Parkinson’s, you know what an awful disease it is. Quality of life is impacted by the severe symptoms!
Investigators at Tel Aviv University, Department of Neurology evaluated Parkinson’s disease symptoms in 22 patients at baseline and 30-minutes after inhaling cannabis.
Researchers reported that inhaled cannabis was associated with “significant improvement after treatment in tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia (slowness of movement). There was also significant improvement of sleep and pain scores. No significant adverse effects of the drug were observed.”
They concluded: “[T]his observational study is the first to report an amelioration of both motor and non-motor symptoms in patients with PD treated with cannabis. The study opens new venues for treatment strategies in PD especially in patients refractory to current medications.”
Israel has formally allowed for the licensed production and distribution of the substance for therapeutic purposes since 2011.

Medical marijuana is gaining acceptance, but could it even help kids? Dr. William Courtney has seen it happen, and on Friday, told HuffPost Live host Alyona Minkovski about it. Saying he was “quite a skeptic 5 or 6 years ago”, Dr. Courtney continued that “my youngest patient is 8 months old, and had a very massive centrally
located inoperable brain tumor.” The child’s father pushed for non-traditional treatment utilizing cannabis.  “They were putting cannabinoid oil on the baby’s pacifier twice a day, increasing the dose… And within two months there was a dramatic reduction, enough that the pediatric oncologist allowed them to go ahead with not pursuing traditional therapy.”The tumor was remarkably reduced after eight months of treatment. Dr. Courtney pointed out that the success of the cannabis approach means that “this child, because of that, is not going to have the long-term side effects that would come from a very high dose of chemotherapy or radiation… currently the child’s being called a miracle baby, and I would have to agree that this is the perfect response that we should be insisting is front line therapy for all children before they launch off on all medications that have horrific long term side effects.”

Just because we can’t see South America and the Amazon from here, doesn’t mean we aren’t responsible. Sarah Palin may be able to see Russia from her house, but we can’t see the destruction and damage we are causing, to the whole planet, with our wasteful, ignorant, antiquated ways of manufacturing practices and our disregard for what top scientists have proven! How many more species will become extinct before we do? Science offers hope, if we start embracing science instead of war and religion. Religion and war do not mix with science and human advancement. We have recorded evidence of history repeating itself. Its time we listened to science and the experienced people in these scientific fields or we are going to lose more butterflies! Maybe after we lose US!

Here in America, we continue to eradicate nature, such as the Hemp plant this beautiful butterfly is perched on. Industrial Hemp has been legalized recently by our Federal Government but it still remains taboo to many people here in the U.S.A., which is traditionally, behind most other countries, even some third-world-countries! We can’t take care of our own, how are we going to preserve nature at its finest and most delicate?

Natures very definition is “the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations.” ~Websters Dictionary~.
To me, this definition infers that nature does NOT need us but we DO NEED NATURE! I mean, really how much science do we need to prove this titanium fact? Do human-beings really need to see the outcome of the current trauma? Humans are raping the planet! I don’t need an evolutionary biologist like Richard Dawkins to explain this simple concept…none of us do, except for the far right-wing republicans AKA the “tea-party”. This party does not believe in “climate change” or “global warming”. That’s going to make our next butterfly extinct!

These magnificent creatures are slowly disappearing…some not so slow. Scientific data already is proving that Monarch Migration is down 44%! Scientists report climate change is the main change but all of the pesticides, deforestation and greenhouse gasses are also dooming the Monarchs to extinction. Can you imagine a life without the Monarchs? I can’t. I’m a simple country boy, Monarchs always comforted me and I could count on the friendly little sprites to bring me luck and good fortune every year. I have noticed fewer and fewer every year! I had more hummingbirds this year than Monarchs in my garden!

How can we let this priceless, beautiful, biological artwork become extinct? We wouldn’t let our Constitution be destroyed. We wouldn’t let our Declaration of Independence bed destroyed. Why are we letting an evolutionary, biological piece of art like this rare butterfly, become extinct? I think it has to do with a hue…a hue of Green! Evil always has a good foundation in money! That’s how humans will become extinct someday too at the present rate we are going. Humans are too greedy and ignorant to evolve at this trajectory. Humans are doomed at the current destructive rate they are traveling at!

Humans have all become “Consumers” in the civilized countries of the world. I say “civilized” but are we really? America itself, is a huge consumer of war and military people and equipment. The United States has been so afraid of industrial hemp, that it has been imported by the U.S. instead of grown in the U.S. This is such irony, as George Washington used to farm Hemp. Hemp can be used for almost anything, including bio-fuel. Hemp also cleanses the air we breathe and produces oxygen. It grows fast, has multiple uses and could kick start a whole new economy for the U.S.

I think Mr. Biello sums it up rather clearly in the above paragraph taken from Scientific American. Although, he is a scientist, I don’t think it takes a scientist to have common sense about this issue. If you believe AT ALL in science, this shouldn’t be a “hard pill to swallow”.
