We are at war…both here in the United States and in Afganistan…probably some other places too!
The WAR ON DRUGS right here in America has taken more victims than all other wars…I am not saying these victims have suffered more than the people who fought and fight in wars for the United States…I was a Marine, serving during Desert Storm…I have all the respect in the world for our men and women in uniform…
I’m talking about the WAR ON DRUGS being antiquated, illogical, immoral, cruel, ineffective and OVER…we lost. Americans have a VERY hard time saying “I lost”. Americans have a hard time with regrouping, scientific data, facts…I shouldn’t say “Americans” I should say POLITICIANS! Half the politicians, at the very least, don’t even believe in Darwin’s Theory of Evolution!

Why isn’t there a war on alcohol? tobacco? weapons? prescription drugs?
I truly feel there is a movement to decriminalize cannabis. It no longer qualifies as a schedule 1 drug if you believe double-blind placebo studies…thousands of them proving efficacy of cannabis treatment…and in some cases…a cure for cancer.
Like so many medical professionals, including myself(I am a nationally certified Registered Nurse) I want to know…where are all the dead bodies? Where are all the marijuana over-dose patients in the ICU? The emergency room? I have never seen just ONE…ONE…NOT ONE! I have seen thousands for alcohol related injuries and battery!
The WAR ON DRUGS is making the cartels richer…the big banks richer by laundering the cartel’s money, and America riddled with more violent crime, because patients have to seek illegal routes to get a plant…that IS a medicine…that is safer than acetaminophen! Americans get prescribed 80% of the worlds Vicodin or Lortab… 80%! Take one too many Vicodin and you stop breathing…you have to get a reversal agent called Narcan STAT or you die of respiratory depression due to the narcotic. Cannabis does not attach to any of those receptors in your brain stem…Cannabis causes NO respiratory depression and no DEATH! Funny though, the federal government says it is more dangerous than all those medications and even cocaine!
Working as a registered nurse, I have to know all of my medications…so many cause nausea, vomitting, head-aches, don’t treat the pain, can have lethal side effects…Why aren’t we past the stupidity yet? It amazes me. So many cancer patients I could have helped if the plant were legal. The good doctors do prescribe a synthetic form of a cannabinoid found in cannabis. The medicine is Marinol and it is no where near as effective as nature’s blend. Marinol is a man made pill made for profit…that’s it!
